Surgical Services: Routine and Orthopedic
At Airpark Animal Hospital, we are outfitted to perform both minor and major surgical procedures, from spay and neuters to more complicated emergency, orthopedic and soft-tissue surgeries. Prior to surgery, your pet receives a thorough physical examination as well as pre-anesthetic blood testing to assess their current health status. Because not all problems can be detected with a physical exam alone, the pre-anesthetic blood work is required. These tests provide us with a more complete picture of your pet’s health, and allow us to tailor an anesthetic regimen that is specific to your pet.
Pain management is an important part of our pre-, post- and intra-operative anesthetic and medical protocols. We advocate discussing operative pain management options with a member of our veterinary staff.
Our surgery suites are fully equipped with state-of-the art anesthetic and monitoring equipment and our veterinarians perform surgeries daily. In addition to performing routine surgeries such as spays and neuters, our highly trained veterinarians can also perform advanced surgeries. Our doctors have many years of experience performing many procedures including orthopedic surgeries like cruciate ligament repair, T.T.A. and luxated patella repair.
Our veterinarians routinely perform exploratory abdominal surgeries to remove foreign bodies, masses or tumors as well as surgeries involving organs like the liver, kidneys and bladder or lump or stone removal, surgery for eye, ear, and throat conditions, and many other surgical procedures.
